WebEquate was founded in 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founder Allen Johnson has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, one of the top computer science programs in the nation. He has 20+ years of professional experience in front end software engineering and full stack web development. He has worked in many different business and technical environments. In 2010, Allen moved to the greater Denver area, where he is still based.

Drawing from his computer science background and his extensive professional and technical experience, he is able to choose the most appropriate tools and the most effective ways to accomplish a client's web site objectives. He also considers ways to ensure that a web site is maintainable and effective over time, reducing maintenance challenges and saving the client money in the long run.
